Well, this Mardi Gras season has come to an end. All of the parades in my town are finished and small of my pictures were taken. Today all the parades were combined and it was much too long of a day. I enjoyed it though. Had fun with my mom and nephew and enjoyed seeing an old friend of mine.

Friday Night Daquari

Tonight I ate Mexican food with my mom. Was a nice dinner and I got a daquari after a long and stressful week. So glad it's the weekend and it's time to relax.

Patterns

Over the years I have spent many countless hours coloring patterns. Each book is a bit different and has pages and pages of blank patterns and its always so interesting to pair colors together. It's always fun and relaxes my mind.

Motivation

Matthew 7:7-8 : 'Ask, and it will be given to you; search and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened'

This has always been my favorite bible quote and it truly has been a guide in my life. I have always asked for Gods help in my life and have had many doors opened for me. It's not something that happens over night, but God has a plan for me and has led me in the right direction.

Today's post is of this special scripture in a bible that was given to me by my God mother for my confirmation. It's a special bible I keep in a safe place and store prayer cards of loved ones who have passed on and are now my guardian angels.

Essentials

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I always enjoy looking nice and put a lot of time and effort into the way I look. I'm not writing this to sound superficial. I like to look presentable. I do it in a tasteful fashion. I don't have to have the most expensive or designer clothes but I do look nice in my own sense of fashion.

One thing that's fun to do when getting ready is putting makeup on. I have quite the collection of make up and I'll spend a few more bucks than most on make up I enjoy wearing. A lot of my collection comes from sephora. I love the sephora brand make up. Urban decay has some nice make up as well. The make up that I choose are made up of pinks and a lot of neutral colors. I recently had a date tell me that he liked that I didn't wear a lot of make up. That was such a big compliment because I wear make up that enhances my beauty and doesn't take away from it or look obnoxious.

I occasionally wear shinny eye shadows, dark colors or a color that matches my outfit. Paring your make up with my outfit is fun, but sometimes is challenging and a good makeup remover is always on hand!

Selfie Sunday

Over the weekend I took pictures at a tableaux and also at Mardi Gras parades. It's often hard to get pictures of yourself when you are the photographer. I love the feature on my cellphone where I can turn the picture around and take a picture of myself. Often I get dressed up and never get a picture of myself.

Today I took pictures at a Mardi Gras parade and also at a Mardi Gras tableaux. While at the parade I got an awesome shot of a shrimp boat.

Let The Good Times Roll

Tonight I got to visit with one of my friends from college. We went to dinner and to the movies. Though I slept through a bit of it, we had an awesome time! Girls nights are my favorite. Was nice visiting with her.

Physical Therapy.

One week of physical therapy for the ankle down. One week to go. When I get there in the morning they hook my ankle up to these pads and attach cables. Usually they turn the lights off and let the anti inflammatory do its magic.

Visitor

Today while eating lunch there was a squirl on the fence near my car. Animals are so interesting to watch sometimes. He walked along the fence, climbed the tree before hopping into the bushes. Was fun to watch and made my lunch more interesting.

The squirrel reminded me of times at Nicholls. There were squirrels everywhere and they'd get so close to the students because they were often well fed.

Swimming

Today I decided to start swimming again. I haven't swam in a few months because of my ankle injury. I swam 20 laps. I think I impressed myself! It was nice to get back in the water again.

Swimming is something I have always enjoyed doing. I swam for 8 years and I lifeguarded for 3 years. I was never the best swimmer but I had fun and enjoyed myself.

Flowers

Sometimes we all just need to stop and look around. It's always nice to observe our surroundings and look at the beauty around us that we don't always have time to do. Today's picture is a nature shot of flower because I thought they were really pretty, they were also pink, which is my favorite color.

Construction

Construction and traffic are two things you cannot escape in my town. When it's 5pm in the afternoon after work there are certain roads you know not to take. I've never been big on driving main roads. Most of the time I try to take the back roads but even those seem to be under construction these days.

Here are some tips when traveling around town. Know the roads that are under construction and leave in enough time to get where your going in case you run into construction traffic.

Lemon Pound Cake

Birthdays are my favorite! I love to bake goodies for my friends and family on their birthdays. Yesterday was my future sister-in-laws birthday and I baked her a lemon pound cake.

I just enjoy seeing the face on the person when I give it to them. I also like the gratification of someone telling me that the sweet I baked them is really cute or that it taste good. It's the best feeling.

Spelling Practice

Tonight I got to hang out with my brother and his family. It was his finance's birthday today and I brought her a cake I baked for her. After we ate cake her son had to do homework. I decided to join in and write the spelling words as she called them out. I did pretty good. Only word I had trouble with is February.

Room Key Collection

One thing I have always enjoyed doing is traveling. I have many memories when I was growing up traveling with my mother and grandmother. I also went on many vacations with my family for my brothers travel baseball team in the summers.

On my trips I always try to keep a room key. It's one of my favorite things to collect. Some of them I wrote on to tell where I traveled too. One of the coolest room keys I got was when I went to Disney World with an organization I was in, in high school and the room key had my name on it and it was part of the package.

One day I have hopes of traveling out of the country. My destination of choice would be Rome ;).
