Rain Drops
As I lay here and write this post I can hear the rain outside of my window and the sound of light thunder in the distance. It has been such a dark and gloomy afternoon in South Louisiana. On a day like this it makes you want to just crawl in bed and fall asleep. Often on days like this it not always "picture perfect" weather and you have to find alternatives. You can take pictures inside, thats always an option. However this afternoon when I got home from work I wanted to take pictures of the rain from my front porch. Of course I didn't really get the picture I liked or wanted to achieve. I did get to play with my flash and got maybe one fun shot that I liked.
If something doesn't work, try again or try something else. I looked to my left to the flower bed and I found a bush I've always been fascinated with. Its called a Callistemon, often referred to as a bottlebrushes because the flowers look like brushes that you would clean a baby bottle with. I got some pretty breath taking shots using my new lens and flash. The dark night and my flash added nice contrast with the water droplets on the flower.
